It took a couple of phone calls between MWS and my friends to straighten that out. Also, it wasn't made clear at the time the reservation was made that everyone who was paying for themselves had to reference a specific confirmation number to be included in the group. We take visitors through sprawling vineyards to a private tasting location. The tour includes stops to meet our furry friends including zebras, water buffalo, llamas, and other creatures. There should be a set per person price for the size of the group, this way everyone pays the same. An adventure in an open top modified safari vehicle through Malibus largest operating vineyard. You pay a certain rate for the first # of people in your group and then the price changes for additional people. Also, the tiered pricing is unnecessary and complicated. The first person I spoke to didn't think that making a reservation for a big group would be complicated, when in fact it was. Well worth the visit! I only awarded 4 stars because of the reservation process. Beautiful landscape in Malibu titled 'Giraffe Wine Safari' except in the entire almost a 2-hour tour, the group ran into a single giraffe. What a precious creature he is!! And there's other beautiful creatures on their animal preserve. And feeding Stanley the giraffe was the highlight of the day. The wines were really nice it was great to see how much better the Malibu wines have become since the vines were first planted in the area. Our guide, Chelsea, and our driver, Laura, were fun and informed and added so much to the beauty and fun of the day. The seats on the safari car are leather and they sit in the sun with nothing protecting them so be prepared to burn your butt if you don't lol.The Malibu Wine Safari was a great outing for our group of 10 friends. Note: If you go on a hot day you might want to bring something to sit on. I mean $95 a person for an hour and half and you can't even keep the wine glass? ![]() Overall we enjoyed ourselves but I don't believe this is worth the money you pay. When we arrived back I went in to get water (which he was already in there) he walked right pass me with the water bottles and handed them to the women (younger with the short dresses/skirts) behind me and when I asked for water he said they were out. I think that was a bit unnecessary and unprofessional also I asked him if they carried water on the safari truck and he said no but once we got back to the main pick up location there was water there. Telling her that she signed the waiver so go ahead and touch the zebra and if he bites her that was basically her fault. He made a comment to one of the women there about the zebras. He was just a little too sarcastic for my liking. Our tour guide was wonderful and very friendly I don't think I caught her name but her driver, I believe his name was Melvin. My boyfriend and I just visted and had a lot of fun, the grounds are so so beautiful and the animal's are very friendly. Limited wine tasting - about 1 tasting flight (don't expect to get drunk) We did not book this one, and went with the Vintner Tour because we wanted more time on the ranch. Vehicle is open-air (need to bring a hat or you'll be sitting directly under the sun). Pick the Correct Tour Do you really want to see Stanley the giraffe from The Hangover Part III Make sure to book the giraffe tour. There are multiple concurrent tours, and they do a great job of separating the groups so you don't ever feel like it's super crowded. Plenty of shade at all of the tour stops, so you can escape the heat on a hot, sunny day. Smaller group size - plenty of time for everyone in the tour to do everything. This year, recreate those tender holiday moments with the luxury of having a glass of vino in hand Malibu Wine Safaris plans on doing more than decking the halls this holiday season. Lots of photo opptys with the animals and around the vineyard. It was very relaxing! Wish we had planned ahead and brought picnicking stuff (e.g., food) to enjoy after the tour. All of them delicious but their speciality is reds. They are generous with the samples, so you end up having roughly 3 glasses each in total 1 bubbly, 1 white, 1 rose and 3 reds. We went on a Friday afternoon and it had beautiful weather.Īfter the tour, we took the free shuttle down to Malibu wines and split a bottle of wine. You start by boarding the safari car and you get a tour if the range, stopping at 2 beautiful locations to try their wines.
